Parenting Alone?:
Congratulations to the 14 parents on the New Futures Career Planning FETAC Level 4 Course have just completed the course. New Futures’ is a unique programme developed by One Family, funded through FAS and delivered in partnership with the Galway City Partnership.
This course aims to support those parenting alone or those who are sharing parenting to re-engage with the labour market and/or education, training and skill development. The Course began on the 25th of January 2011 and it ended on the 26th of May 2011.
The topics covered in the programme were:
- Personal Development
- Career Exploration
- World of Work and Education
- Overcoming Barriers to Progression
Wrap around specialist family support services including parenting supports, information provision and counselling were also on offer if required.
